The organic brick is an attempt to highlight the natural tendencies of a typical brick, making it appear less human-made. It uses the proportions of a standard orthogonal brick as a base. Through reinterpretation, it becomes more amorphic and connected to nature. Each module can be smartly joined together into a larger system.
The cavities in its shape invite typically unwanted life to take over the brick or the entire system as a wall. Smaller plants, fungi, and more begin to grow on it, while the holes provide homes for insects. The unglazed, pure nature of the clay helps maintain the right moisture level, serving as a seamless connection point between the brick and nature.
Ideally, this system could be used as a wall system in gardens, a façade system in architecture, or purely as a beautiful object in your home.
